It is very hard for women to thrive in the music industry because women have to face gender inequality, discrimination and underpayment. Some of my favorite female artists in the music industry right now are Latto, City Girls, and Megan Thee Stallion. In the music industry men are able to degrade women and talk about drugs and sex but if a woman does these things, they will face backlash because they are a woman. Latto is one of my favorite female artists, she is not afraid to say what is on her mind and express her sexism. In an interview with Breakfast Club Latto discussed how it was hard for her to get her album cleared because men are difficult, and they don't know how to keep a business. In the Interview Latto said, “I'm just keeping it 100, there’s a feature on my album that was difficult to clear, and they Tryna drop nuts on me because I won't respond to a DM”.
